Excessive barking
At night
put your puppy to sleep and leave him until the morning. If he
cries, don’t go and start telling
him “BE QUIET” “SHUT UP”, “HUSH”,
etc. He is not hearing you, he is just happy he made you come back.
Don’t let him train you!
During the day he may bark because he wants something. Find out
what is it. Maybe he wants to go potty or he is thirsty.
If you don’t find any reason,
every time your puppy starts barking, leave
him alone in
a room or crate, saying “QUIET”
and leave. Repeat it until he gets the idea that he will be alone, if he
barks un-purposely. Price him if he stays quiet, first for a short
period of time, and then for a longer time.
Make sure you take him out ONLY when he is not barking any more.
If your puppy is growing and continues
to bark for no reason or starts barking when is outside, you
may try “no barking” collars
that are sold in specialized pet shops.
