Is my dog sick?
Healthy puppies combine contentment and alertness.
Your puppy might need your veterinarians immediate attention if:
He doesn't want to eat for more than 1 day.
He vomits more than 3 times in 1 day.
He vomits for more than 1 day.
He has soft stool with or without blood or/and mucus for more
than 2 days.
He has liquid diarrhea with or without blood or/and mucus for
more than 1 day.
His temperature is <100 F or >102
F.
His gums are another color than pink.
He is drooling in excess.
When you pick up a fold of skin in the middle back area and then
you release, it doesn't falls back slowly or remains up. This could
mean that dehydration is present.
Your puppy might need your veterinarians attention if:
He is coughing.
He has any nasal or eye discharge.
He gets tired very easily.
He is more itchy than normal.
He has a hair coat with harsh feel or dull texture.
You see any flea or tick.
He is limping for more than 1 day.
He urinates several times with very few drops coming out.
He has a potbelly.
He has lack of interest in what is happening.
In an emergency, keep a level head and quickly get your dog to
the veterinarian. Call first. If your doctor's office is not
open, call the nearest emergency pet clinic. Keep emergency phone
numbers near your telephone.
