WHY CHOOSE
A VAN DALEN
LABRADOR

"Our greatest satisfaction is seeing our Labradors become
deeply loved members of their families."
For over 25 years, we have focused on preserving the classic English Labrador Retriever with the temperament, structure, health, and looks that made the breed one of the most beloved in the first place. At Van Dalen Labradors, we strive to produce the complete dog — sound in mind and body, beautiful in type, emotionally stable, and capable of being both an active companion and a devoted family member.
“We breed for the complete dog,
sound in mind, body, and temperament.”

A Focus on Health and Longevity

Health has always been one of the foundations of our breeding program, both as a breeder and as a veterinarian. My veterinary background gives me a deeper understanding of canine health, structure, genetics, and long-term soundness, and that knowledge guides every decision we make within our program.
Our breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing, and pedigrees are carefully evaluated alongside temperament, structure, and overall quality before any litter is planned. Our goal is not simply to produce beautiful puppies, but to preserve and raise English Labradors with the strongest possible foundation for a healthy, sound, and fulfilling life.
Sound minds, happy hearts, and just enough mischief.

Preserving the English Labrador

We are passionate about preserving the classic English Labrador Retriever — dogs known for their substance, balanced structure, kind expression, and steady disposition.

While appearance certainly matters, structure is about far more than beauty alone. Correct structure contributes to sound movement, physical durability, and the ability of the Labrador to remain functional and athletic throughout its life.
We value Labradors that are both beautiful and capable of doing what the breed was originally developed to do.

Our Commitment

The Complete Dog

Sound minds, happy hearts, and just enough mischief.

01
Health Tested

Every breeding dog undergoes extensive health screening. Pedigrees are evaluated alongside temperament and structure before any litter is planned.

02
Classic Breed Type

Substance, balanced structure, kind expression, and the steady disposition the English Labrador has always been celebrated for.

03
Proven Show Quality

Our dogs compete at the highest levels of conformation, demonstrating that beauty and soundness are not opposing values — they reinforce each other.

Raised with Care and Early Socialization

Picture
Our puppies are raised in a hands-on environment where they receive daily interaction, attention, and early socialization from the very beginning.
By the time our puppies leave for their new homes, they have already been exposed to many of the normal sights, sounds, and routines of everyday life.
Choosing a Labrador is an important decision, and we understand that families are not simply looking for a puppy — they are looking for a companion that will become part of their lives for many years to come.
We are grateful to the families who trust us with that responsibility.
